Silver Maple Stables was established in 1959 when my mother, Mary Catherine Gerhardt, purchased the Senator Graham daughter, Kamiah to be my pleasure Horse. And this began my lifelong devotion to the Morgan Horse. One good Morgan always leads to another and so it was that Silver Maple Stables became a Morgan breeding farm. Many years of studying pedigrees with my mentor, Helen Brunk Greenwalt, gave me a strong foundation in my breeding theories that continue to this day.

Beamine was bred by SMS and hailed as Beamington's greatest son. A horse of extraordinary beauty and refinement, he epitomized the excellence sought in my breeding program. A star from the day he was born, Beamine was the first Grand National Champion bred by SMS, capturing 1977 Reserve World Champion Stallion as a three year old. His untimely death at age five was a severe blow to Silver Maple Stables' breeding program. Beamine left just 39 offspring, 86% of which also are Champions! |

Among Beamine's get, Thunderbay went on to become one of the most popular Morgan horses in the country. With 23 World and Grand National titles to his credit, Thunderbay has certainly left his mark on the Morgan horse world. Sadly, I lost this great Champion on April 15, 2009, just 2 days before his 29th birthday. Bobby quietly passed in my arms as if he had waited for me. Thunderbay's legacy continues through his sons,

With the loss of Beamine, plans went into motion to breed another stallion to follow his tradition of excellence. A daughter of Fairfield Fortune was sent to Beamington and the following spring produced Forevermore. Mission accomplished. |

| Forevermore proved to be more than anyone could have hoped for in a breeding stallion. His heart and courage were beyond compare. Forevermore's get have not only proven successful in the show arena, but also outstanding in the breeding shed. His daughters have given us some of our BEST, including WCM Moranda Morgan, dam of Kiss and Tell. Silver Maple Stables occasionally has a foal available for sale out of a Forevermore daughter.
